2026 Poster Contest Information

General Information
The Delaware County Conservation District’s 2026 Poster Contest is now open to all public, private, and home-schooled students in Kindergarten through 12th grade who reside or at-tend a school within Delaware County!
Posters will be judged in the following grade categories: K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12.

There are four categories this year:
1.) Hand Drawn Poster– Creation of poster using traditional hand-drawn methods to illustrate the NACD contest theme.
2.) Braille Poster– Competition for blind and low-vision students to use braille to create posters championing natural resource conservation.
3.) Additional Assist Poster: This is open to all students who may benefit from extra assistance to complete their posters. Participants are encouraged to create posters that celebrate inclusivity and the beauty of our environment.
4.) Digital Poster: Only for grades 7-12 Students can Use graphic arts programs to create poster featuring the NACD contest theme. No copyrighted content outside of the NACD logo can be used.

Contest Rules

  1. The theme “Soil: Where it All Begins” must appear on the front of the poster.
  2. Poster must be the original artwork of the student. The poster may not be traced from photographs or other artists’ pub-lished works.
  3. No artist’s name may appear on the front of the poster.
  4. Poster must be created by an individual student. A student may only submit one entry.
  5. Posters must be flat. No 3-D object may be attached to the poster.
  6. Posters should be 11×17”.

Submission Process

In order to enter the contest, please email a pdf of your poster to Jordan Lambe at LambeJ@co.delaware.pa.us, or deliver a hard copy to DCCD’s office.
With the submission, please provide the fol-lowing information:
Category Student is Entering, Student’s Name, Address, Phone Number, Grade, School, and Teacher’s Name.
Due date for submission is Friday, June 5th. Judging will take place shortly after this date and notification letters and prize checks will be mailed out to the winners
Posters will be judged according to the con-servation message, visual effectiveness, originality, and universal appeal.

Prizes

Prizes in the form of a check will be awarded to the first through fourth place winners and the prize amounts are the following:
First Place $75
Second Place $50
Third Place $25
Fourth Place $15
First place posters will be sent to the PA Association of Conservation Districts for the state poster competition.
