The Delaware County Conservation District is now accepting applications for Low Volume Road improvement projects! Applications will be accepted year-round with semi-annual application deadlines. Deadlines are April 1st and October 30th. Please contact the District prior to submitting an application.
In order to be eligible to apply for program funds, the person in charge of work plan development and project implementation from the road-owning entity MUST attend an Environmentally Sensitive Maintenance (ESM) training session. These trainings are typically two-day classroom sessions and require some travel.
As a courtesy to our public entities, the Penn State Center for Dirt and Gravel Road Studies will be holding a one-day ESM Training in Delaware County.
This training will count as eligibility to apply for Low Volume Road funds for a period of five (5) years.
Date: Thursday, January 30th
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (lunch will be provided)
Location: Haverford Community Recreation & Environmental Center, Environmental Room, 9000 Parkview Drive, Haverford, PA 19041
Registration: There is no cost to attend this training; however, registration is required. Please contact Karen Wilwol at (610) 892-9484 or WilwolK@co.delaware.pa.us to register.
Please note that private entities involved in LVR projects (such as bidders and contractors) are encouraged to attend this training free of charge, but their attendance does NOT count as certification for municipalities. Someone from the road-owning entity must still attend to become eligible to apply for funding.
